PICTURE THIS. It’s sunset. The summer breeze waltzes with the leaves of the coconut trees. Cumulus clouds shift against the amber sky. It’s an idyllic moment for a father to take his son for a stroll.

And there he was, dressed in a barong, walking along the shoreline with his son, likewise wearing our national apparel. They were guests of a wedding in one of the island’s premier resorts on White Beach. They stop at the perimeter of the reception. In a tender moment of fatherly love, the man unzips his son’s pants and gestures for him to go ahead and take a piss.
