Youth council members tagged in Quiapo robbery
Two Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) members were arrested by policemen after allegedly robbing a woman in Quiapo, Manila, before dawn Tuesday.
Inspector Ricardo Magtajas, Quiapo police precinct commander, identified the suspects as Reynaldo Bautista and Jasper Santos, SK councilmen of Barangay 307.
Magtajas said Bautista and Santos cornered their victim, Camille Aguirre, at the overpass on Raon street around 2 a.m. as the victim was on her way home. The two robbed Aguirre at knifepoint and fled with her bag containing P700 in cash, the police officer said.
Aguirre’s shouts for help caught the attention of patrolling village watchmen. They were able to track down the suspects.
Aguirre positively identified the two at the police precinct.
