Zambo del Sur congressman loses hi-tech gadgets to thieves
Congressman Victor Yu from Zamboanga del Sur province lost at least P300,000 worth of electronic gadgets to thieves who broke into his Quezon City home, radio dzMM reported late Wednesday night.
In her complaint filed before Station 6 of the Quezon City Police District in Barangay Batasan, Elizabeth Yuson, the congressman’s staff, said the thieves took off with Yu’s two laptop computers, two mobile phones and a digital camera. The camera alone costs around P250,000.
The theft took place at the congressman’s home at the corner of A. Bonifacio and New Capitol streets in Batasan Hills Subdivision.
Yuson said that the thieves entered the home by way of a sliding glass window that was left ajar.
The congressman has yet to issue a statement as of last report.
According to the House of Representatives’ official Web site, the first-termer Yu is a businessman by profession. He is vice-chairman of the Mindanao affairs committee.
